Established in December of 2000, Comix Revolution's Evanston location is only minutes from the southern tip of Northwestern University and minutes north of Chicago.
The store has been described in the Chicago Reader as "pretentious in all the right ways," which hits close to the truth. Heavily emphasizing graphic novels and trade paperbacks, Evanston also brings in independent literary novels and radical books. When most comic shops bring in novels, they usually come at it thru superhero comics, Evanston Comix Revolution explores the written word thru alternative and independent comics.
As a result, we offer a magazine selection which runs from McSweeney's Quarterly to Bust Magazine to Cometbus to Punk Planet. We carry books from Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn, from Mark Ryden and Coop, and from Dave Eggers and David Sedaris. It's a wide variety of titles, but we guarantee you'll find something unexpected and delightful.
With over two thousand graphic novels instock every day, Comix Revolution arguably offers the widest selection of graphic novels in the Chicagoland area. The staff at our Evanston store can help to track down any in-print titles your looking for and provide clues on where you might find out-of-print titles.
While Evanston does carry a compact selection of back issues, we do keep the last four to six months worth of comics on the racks. Also to be found are a full line selection of Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire, Werewolf, and Hackmaster games.
